Greeting to everyone in the self induced hostage situation aka lock down aka quarantine. Days have no rhyme or reason... I even thought today was Saturday so there's that. People are either working or looking for work and everyone has either lost their minds or are in the process of losing it. People are also learning new things like Zoom which is similar to Skype, FB video call, Snapchat video call, Google Duo, and other services of the like but lets be honest...Zoom is killing the game at the moment. Hopefully they're continuing to fix their bugs and back doors security issues but that's a different story told by my cyber security friends. Just do yourself a favor and make strong passwords that don't match any other passwords....also two step authentication...it's worth it.<br />
<br />
Anyways along with zoom chats and zoom doctor appointments, comes zoom job interviews. It's been brought to my attention that it's just as weird and awkward as in person interviews, but with a few tweaks, you'll be more comfortable and nail that interview on your own turf rather than theirs.<br />
<br />
So the biggest thing that needs to be decided is whether you're taking that interview on your phone or your computer. Now if you're like me and haven't really used your laptop since college, chances are that your phone is newer than your laptop. Sometimes when you go to use your laptop, it has to do hours of updates because it hasn't been turned on in more than a month...and still take five minutes just to get to the desktop that feels like a million years. For that reason, I prefer to use my phone and the Zoom app, so on that note:<br />
<br />
1. Mind your background - with you being on your own turf interviewing for a new job, your environment is important. It sounds like common sense to not have your dirty laundry in view but there's also people ingesting disinfectant so I'm going to say it anyway. Pick a spot in front of your wall. Avoid windows especially if the light it coming in through the curtains.<br />
<br />
2. Snag a tripod from somewhere - With it being a job interview, you want to make a good impression and that doesn't include a visible selfie stick or a selfie stance or the constant moving or repositioning. Use a coffee table, tv table, stack of books to prop it up at eye level. Or use one of your essential trips to an open store for a small tripod. I have one from amazon and it came in handy for much more than outfit shots.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhioYEP3tN03KrqVZc_721sDiQ64HWq3jhu_aN2mvd9aWV4xlPRuDSHckXRq0wkXvA7OABclfcTm_Xh5MySKYLyKmTNpA5hDFT5ZPdaLUbA0zjrNMaOowvwzwqmguPy3USnZCien19jE/s1600/tripod+on+amazon.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="577" data-original-width="1082" height="170" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhioYEP3tN03KrqVZc_721sDiQ64HWq3jhu_aN2mvd9aWV4xlPRuDSHckXRq0wkXvA7OABclfcTm_Xh5MySKYLyKmTNpA5hDFT5ZPdaLUbA0zjrNMaOowvwzwqmguPy3USnZCien19jE/s320/tripod+on+amazon.PNG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Mine is unavailable but this is similar</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
3. Mind your angles - Selfie connoisseurs know their proper photo angles but that's not what I mean. If you want to get away with a nice top and sweats or pj bottoms, you have to angle them correctly. If you are like me and have a significantly size bust, you probably don't want the camera angled down too much to show 11 miles of cleavage. So before your interview, figure out your set up and angle to feel your best up top and down below the camera.<br />
<br />
4. Notebook and pen - The nice part of doing online interviews is that you have more resources at your disposal. Sometimes the interviewer will send you questions beforehand or I'm sure you can research typical interview questions as YouTube is your friend. Write down your answers and have them within your eye sight or other notes or questions to ask during the interview. The interviewer will appreciate the effort and initiative.<br />
<br />
5. Water - What I've noticed with online conversations is that regardless if it's work or play, when we are talking, we talk a frigging lot. So have a little water near you in case you need it because you'll want your voice to be clear and not end of coughing because you're super dry from answering questions back to back.<br />
<br />
Now I want to make note that if you choose your phone rather than a computer for zoom. Please keep in mind that if you get a phone call during this, your mic and sound will get cut off. I found that out the hard way but it's not the end of the world. Just tap ignore on the call and move on.<br />
<br />
So while we adjust to the new normal for the time being, we might as well adapt and manage. For those on the job hunt, I hope this helps because I have a feeling that even after this is all over, some of these new aspects of the job market are going to stick. More is going to be digital rather than in person. Call it a hunch but that's what I think...Stay healthy and get the job.<br />

I will even admit that I started out that way too despite being a text book high risk person. I fell for the 'it's basically the flu' hype and once I pulled my head out and started keeping up with the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html" target="_blank">CDC</a> rather than such and such station, I've made my adjustments and continued on the self induced hostage situation for weeks...because days mean nothing anymore.<br />
<br />
So anyways, if you're confused about the title, <a href="http://bit.ly/TOTTTank" target="_blank">Tales of the Tank</a>. Let me quickly explain, I love my bags and need them sturdy and a bit Marry Poppins-ish so that I'm relatively prepared for whatever the day throws at me. Peeps with quite a commute know what I'm talking about. So now that you know, I have a few more posts like these and I'll pop them down below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7EQHEkrVXMV2B7ZtR02ngsYXDmehfT5LQcVM5jUGyP_W703p0xnT1Of8BWoVTZYz-a9zZ6VdbGpgWf7YBAVzlw4P7qN3gfxXZCJ-lKyy06mwsAPLcEyfPzqNgeOzQ4dRIimJdq2C3mCU/s1600/20200321_182756.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1435" data-original-width="1600" height="286" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7EQHEkrVXMV2B7ZtR02ngsYXDmehfT5LQcVM5jUGyP_W703p0xnT1Of8BWoVTZYz-a9zZ6VdbGpgWf7YBAVzlw4P7qN3gfxXZCJ-lKyy06mwsAPLcEyfPzqNgeOzQ4dRIimJdq2C3mCU/s320/20200321_182756.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
But any-whoville, I've juggled a few sizes and style and lately for at least the past year or two, I've been a die-hard backpack purse user. On top of that, since we haven't been hit with a full country lockdown, there are some times where I've needed to go out as safely as possible. So here's a few things that should be in your bag if you have to leave home for essential reasons:<br />
<br />
1. Wallet- I don't usually carry cash because regardless of global viruses, IT'S DIRTY AF. If you have a debit or credit card, use it. More cards are becoming contactless rather than using the chip that sooo many love (insert sarcasm). Look for this symbol on your card and it should work if the place uses them. OR if you're super fancy or live in a bigger city than me, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, just use something other than cash please.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQfbA2FZfBEBN3xulCQWIckxnXVD34N0US-2SiKtS-3uoiM6S9e8X609ppHz6FZOHhUbbDbEJV69ftV3hpwNtoaRbTHAO6v3jmJxlPTnhdThwz4PLVDYA1BmtRx4ve7pqyPw51SsqqvEs/s1600/contactless+symbol.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="188" data-original-width="327" height="114" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQfbA2FZfBEBN3xulCQWIckxnXVD34N0US-2SiKtS-3uoiM6S9e8X609ppHz6FZOHhUbbDbEJV69ftV3hpwNtoaRbTHAO6v3jmJxlPTnhdThwz4PLVDYA1BmtRx4ve7pqyPw51SsqqvEs/s200/contactless+symbol.PNG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
2. <a href="http://bit.ly/TOTTBattery" target="_blank">External battery/ Charging cord</a> - I will never stop carrying at least one of these around. No asking for a cord or looking for an outlet and risking sitting less that 6 feet from some random person.<br />
<br />
3. Hand Sanitizer - As an avid and loyal customer to Bath and Body Works, this is the hand sanitizer I have and use because one, I have it and two, it's all gone as far as Purell is concerned. Now, according to the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/infection-control/hcp-hand-sanitizer.html" target="_blank">CDC</a>, hand sanitizer is still good if it has 60% ethanol alcohol or 70% isopropanol alcohol so that physicians perform surgery. BBW hand sanitizer has 68% isopropanol...so it's not enough for surgery but maybe enough to pick up some laundry detergent and a swiffer wet mop. Now if you are out or everywhere is, there is a DIY on the Pinterest for 70+% alcohol and aloe vera gel mixture. Use at your discretion. [[If you can also get your hands on clorox or lysol wipes, it becomes very handy to have in your car.]]<br />
<br />
4. Medication Pouch - I have this on me anyway. Remember I mentioned that whole high risk thing? Yeah, totally feel like a class A idiot but I've made a call to make sure that my meds are in and on hand. Also thank you Tylenol and Tylenol Sinus because these allergies and sinuses have also been hella bad.<br />
<br />
5. Notebook/Pen - Yes I use my phone for notes, but I remember more when I write it down. Like if it's not written, it doesn't exist. So for the times that I've needed to go out, I'll write down where I need to go and what I need to get done. Plan it out, execute, and back to the hidey hole. Also don't need to ask for a pen to sign for receipts. Boom.<br />
<br />
6. Extra Mask - Regardless of how you feel about the current times or how much it does or does not affect you, there are millions of people who are at high risk. Some are elderly and some are immunocompromised and those people can be of any age. ANY. AGE. The thing is that we don't walk around with neon signs. So please just be a good person and wear a mask of sorts. Paper, fabric, bandanna, whatever. You aren't required to care but a good person cares for someone else like they do themselves. And now I'll descend off of the soapbox.<br />
<br />
And there we go, so wherever you are, I implore you to not pull a me and dismiss the severity of what's going on and stay well. Hopefully you're able to work from home and social distance without hoarding. Check your sources for news or multiple sources and if nothing else, the <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html" target="_blank">CDC</a> is easily accessible.<br />
<br />
<br />
In the meantime, here's some of my other posts that don't have to deal with a global crisis.<br />

See I spent a good portion of the month running around helping out some family that had been in the hospital and then a rehab hospital afterwards. Thankfully everything turned out well and I had some time to do what I procrastinate to do which is clean out my email.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Way way way back in the day I wrote a post on cleaning up my email from coupons and offers in an effort to not go overboard on the spending, especially with<a href="http://bit.ly/ODIARccards" target="_blank"> store credit cards</a>. I'm also pretty sure that was the last time I had a good clean up on it. But while going through and unsubscribing and things, I found out that I had Torrid cash to use. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now I usually have to order online but the city I was in, steadily getting a bit of cabin fever, there was a store I could go into. So while someone went off to therapy, I took it upon myself to get some therapy of my own. Low and behold there was also a massive sale on clearance which happened to include workwear. If you are of the curvy and/or plus size variety, you know that: 1. It's hell to find good office wear; 2., It's expensive as hell; And 3., it NEVER goes on sale. So I was on it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I found a few great pieces for work and a BEAUTIFUL coat that was well over $130 but good old clearance sale had my back and I was able to get it for about $30. The blazers being on trend were a divine intervention because mine never quite fit right and the one good one I have needs to be dry cleaned where these are machine washable and look fantastic even when I'm not wearing a "good bra" and that says something. </div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0e5GgsJ4GeOsXNpiUjxBy0cEIG_MaOavr4f3R4p2uGW5o8gBmjFspk3clgFfhAd_tdhP_lGV3n4bHO-UhDN1tVlwWUCbuYL-evyEbbTjE8AAmiuwupyUgn6DnPJDIe7P0Jh-pOConrew/s1600/20200118_140334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0e5GgsJ4GeOsXNpiUjxBy0cEIG_MaOavr4f3R4p2uGW5o8gBmjFspk3clgFfhAd_tdhP_lGV3n4bHO-UhDN1tVlwWUCbuYL-evyEbbTjE8AAmiuwupyUgn6DnPJDIe7P0Jh-pOConrew/s200/20200118_140334.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Even more so, the store associates were wonderful. I had questions on the regular sale, the clearance sale, the when-are-swimsuits-coming-in questions. I talked to a different person each time and they were not only helpful, they were super nice about it. That's not always the case for me at Torrid. I have a draft from a while back talking about how I don't get to shop in store that much but when I do, the experience is horrible and I stick to online. Around that time I'd been to 4 stores in three states when I was <a href="http://bit.ly/2travelwoe" target="_blank">travelling </a>and my memory is when I stopped an associate to ask a question, she looked at me as though I killed her dog. I dropped my stuff and left. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So having this great experience made me want to hug these people and thank them for really just being nice especially when they weren't aware about being interrupted by hospital staff at all hours of the night and day. It renewed my faith in especially the plus size community because out here in rural communities, you have a small town, small mind mentality a lot of the time and I hope to encounter more of this wonderfulness this year as I make some decisions for the year, so stay tuned for that. </div>

Not going to bombard you with new year new you shiz, the algorithm will do that for you. Instead I'm here with another entry into my medical guide to hopefully help someone out there to go to the d@mn doctor be it, medical, eye, teeth, etc. What I do when I go the doctor is in <a href="http://bit.ly/DrRxtips1" target="_blank">Part 1</a> but then it also occurred to me that not everyone is comfortable talking to people in phone or in person and by some, I mean a lot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNJFhiHGMk_nj807kbdhexy0cM24905X69yaD7JIbVPsRo64SOHASE0fnP_P_YKbc_1ND1BjzwcM0zDwp1US_44sgNGjFF6bx6F941EPAuDYPtSleZ69hur53CyeaT5ur_4R3svbjEDw/s1600/20200118_102321.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNJFhiHGMk_nj807kbdhexy0cM24905X69yaD7JIbVPsRo64SOHASE0fnP_P_YKbc_1ND1BjzwcM0zDwp1US_44sgNGjFF6bx6F941EPAuDYPtSleZ69hur53CyeaT5ur_4R3svbjEDw/s320/20200118_102321.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Social anxiety is a thing for tons of people to varying degrees and if you're like me living in a rural area where you're lucky if you can find your doctor's office online let alone book an appointment. Sometimes it's inevitable that you have to talk to a person and I understand that is uncomfortable, but it must be done so I hope this lays some details out for you in order to get it done in the least amount of time/ slash conversation possible.<br />
<br />
1. Preparation is key. Why are you calling? What symptoms do you have or do you recognize a sinus infection that you get every season that you know you'll need antibiotics? <a href="http://bit.ly/DrRxtips1" target="_blank">This is why part one is up first.</a> The more you know and have written (or typed) the better you can spout it off when you're on the spot.<br />
<br />
2. When do you have time to go? Everyone is busy with life and work but strep throat doesn't care if you have a final or a business meeting. So find out how soon you need to make an appointment. If you're already home sick, you want to get in asap. If you're not home yet maybe you need to plan on your lunch break. I know with my general 9 to 5, it was easier to set it for the morning then go to work late and stay if necessary than try to get off at a certain time to not be late. But that depends on your schedule.<br />
<br />
3. What insurance are you using and is this office in your network to hopefully get a smaller copay and overall a smaller bill. There's 2 ways for this to go. You can do the research, beforehand, in your prep to talk to your insurance and they will find an office in your network or for lack of better words, someone they prefer to work with. Or you can talk to the doctor's office you're wanting to go to and they will run the info from your insurance card to let you know the details so keep it on hand.<br />
<br />
<br />
4.This brings us to the moment of truth and the best thing you can do is to be nice to the receptionist and everything will be smooth. They will ask you questions and chances are you'll have the answers because you wrote them down in step 1. If this is your very first appointment to this office or doctor, you can say something like this:<br />
<br />
"Hi. My name is ____. I'm needing to set up an appointment as a new patient." or if you already go to that office just drop the "as a new patient" and add " with Dr. _______."<br />
<br />
There will be questions they HAVE to ask you and 98% of the time are also handling people in person as well as stuff going on behind the scenes on their end, so be nice and they'll move you right along and get you in a good spot. I've rarely run into a rude receptionist or nurse but it may happen, just get the information you need and be done as quick as possible. And remember to say thank you no matter what.<br />
<br />
QUICK NOTE: ALWAYS GET THEIR NAME. It's always good to get a name so if you talked with them and clicked, had chemistry, made a good connection, etc. It means that you have a point of contact to ask for in the future. On the other hand if, they aren't for you or you just don't like them, you know who to avoid. Write It Down! That's the same for the office staff and especially the nurses.<br />
<br />
<br />
This helped me get into the swing of things when making appointments especially in the beginning of my spoonie journey. Take the new year into a new decade to be your best self and that includes your health so please cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, wash your hands, and go to the doctor.<br />

I’m no stranger to the doctor, even before being thrown headfirst into the spoonie life, there’s been talking my friends to go to the doctor in college because swine flu was thing and so was quarantine. Talking my friend and co-worker to go to the doctor because she’s planning to go on a trip and that includes a plane with all the limited and communal air and a baby who’s young enough to have an immune system like mine naturally. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikPq8NV-MLixKoLwu0CF5RoKXqKP2xE0h4EoZHCr9pONuPhi5HP7foqq2tM_vFCGPSgksOn7ACRkxNzCaPbirN6sPcnup2WjiYY6bMNmD_LQM-LIrQ_Nqe6E_lCDUHfrPgZfWystdF1uA/s1600/20191023_211022.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikPq8NV-MLixKoLwu0CF5RoKXqKP2xE0h4EoZHCr9pONuPhi5HP7foqq2tM_vFCGPSgksOn7ACRkxNzCaPbirN6sPcnup2WjiYY6bMNmD_LQM-LIrQ_Nqe6E_lCDUHfrPgZfWystdF1uA/s320/20191023_211022.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">I get it, no one likes the doctor, or the dentist, or the optometrist nor does anyone like paying for it. But the alternative could be worse and you’ll spend a hella lot more guaranteed… so I’m put together a few of my best tips when dealing with those of the medical variety for your adulting accomplishments and with strep season upon us and flu season on the way, please take care of yourselves. </span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">It’s easy to feel intimidated and sometimes powerless when you’re going to the doctor. It’s normal and it happens, but it doesn’t mean that you have to go through the motions. It’s important to take control of your health for whatever may come your way, spoonie or not. It’s easy to hear and say “be your own advocate”, but how do you do that? Well here’s what I do, so check it out and try what you like and if it works for you too, great and if not, well you have a starting point and can make it work for you. Afterwards, if you don’t mind, report back!</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Part 1: Notes </span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Whether you use an app on your phone or a physical notebook to write on, do it because I can just about guarantee that you will not remember by the time you leave that office. Now I will say that doctors don’t generally like seeing phones out and may ask you to put them away. I prefer to write things down because you can develop your own shorthand without the threat of autocorrect.</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Now let me break this down:</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkKsSIpO0ng-XxZtq_BmZHMEEH4aWgW1Tj3MESUyzSuLPmhSRXg2_UPePawGcHm7ZGeYrkEBBd0ec6pecwfLpAI-Xmb03SfQTwUUCPxHuI_Sq-YT1GgenFQVtCurxQxCOYb_vD9BLto-c/s1600/20191023_211101.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkKsSIpO0ng-XxZtq_BmZHMEEH4aWgW1Tj3MESUyzSuLPmhSRXg2_UPePawGcHm7ZGeYrkEBBd0ec6pecwfLpAI-Xmb03SfQTwUUCPxHuI_Sq-YT1GgenFQVtCurxQxCOYb_vD9BLto-c/s320/20191023_211101.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Date/Time/Doctor – standard information especially if you have multiple doctors or if you’re a caregiver to someone else. Do you have a hard time setting up the appointment? Well stay tuned because that's coming up soon because I know that for a lot of people, that's not easy.</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Reason – is it a follow up? Do you have symptoms? Describe them. If it’s pain, does it throb or is it stabbing or just sharp? On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst pain you’ve ever experienced, where are you currently or when it was at its worst? How many times have you felt it, whatever ‘it’ may be?</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">List of Medications – It’s important to know what you’re taking and how much you’re taking between Rx Prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, and even vitamins or holistic practices. They all are chemical reactions happening in your gut and body, so it’s important for the doctor and the pharmacist to know so you don’t make yourself worse.</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">Vitals – every place does it so write them down, even the weight because unexplained weight gain or loss can be a symptom. Especially for us in the plus sized community, we know that a lot of attention gets directed at this number. So do yourself a favor and write it down because you know your habits and what has changed vs what hasn’t. Writing it down gives you evidence and backup to your case that there is a problem even if your clue is weight loss.</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">The rest is for your notes, what is the doctor’s plan? </span><span style="font-family: "calibri";">Is he giving you a prescription? What is it and what is the dosage? How long do you have to take it?</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">What is your diagnosis? If you don’t have one, what tests are being ordered and what is the procedure for that test or what is it supposed to show?</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">If you come up with questions after the appointment, write them down to either call the doctor back or to save for the next appointment.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";">So here’s part one. Take what you will and I hope it helps you get that annual physical or handle multiple visits for yourself or someone else. Stick around for the next tip because as much as we don’t want to do or would rather have mom do it, we need it.</span><br />
<span dir="LTR" style="font-family: "calibri";"><br /></span>

Is there an age where you’re too old to read Young Adult
books? There’s a good part of me that says you’re never too old for Disney so
why should books be limited? I had to verify with my BFF this morning with
that. He, an author going for his Masters and if he feels feisty possibly a PhD,
assured me that reading YA is perfectly fine because obviously the people who
wrote them enjoy it too and chances are they aren’t actual young adults either.

<div class="MsoNormal">
I really enjoy fantasy more than anything as I think that
every Twilight fan has. Yes, I admit that I am part of that fandom that was
created back in high school. It was the first book I read for fun that was unprovoked
by a movie and really started my love with books and I fell hard. (I’d quote
the part about being “irrevocably” in love but hey copyright – I see you) I did
the midnight releases at Hastings (RIP) for Eclipse. Then I was completely Team
Edward...down the blanket on my dorm bed to his poster on my dorm ceiling
freshman year...of college. Oh yea, I was that person. Don’t get me started on the
movies…different can of worms entirely.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
But so my whole point of that little confession is that’s
where I started. Young adult fantasy stories. And from there, I tried different
ones. Eragon, Eon, House of night, Hunger Games, City of Bones, the Grey Wolves
Series, Throne of Glass, etc. I did a lot. There was a sprinkling of other, arguably age appropriate, works in there, and one even made it to my favorites a while back here. <o:p></o:p></div>

But it’s hard sometimes because the girls at work don’t
really read, and my friends are teachers and/or parents and not close to my
location. The local library has started a book club type deal but the last
thing they read was Eleanor Oliphant is completely Fine…I haven’t heard of this
book so it’s a sample sitting on my Kindle whereas for next month, the book it
To Kill A Mockingbird….I remember reading it in school and absolutely hating
it. Could it be different now reading the beloved classic as an adult, quite
possible but I have no desire to read it. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So again, here I am totally in a puddle of isolated meh.
Maybe I’ll try and branch out and I’ve been trying to with my current reading
challenge that I found in a different book club Facebook group for a podcast I
listen to and I think it’s going well…Still got a couple to find that fit the
criteria but I think that’s part of the fun.<o:p></o:p><br />

Now I may even teeter on the crazy side because I have a planner for my day to day, aka, regular life and I also have one for work.<br />
<br />
Sounds kinda crazy but it’s actually quite nifty because with my work, I handle a certain amount of info that is confidential and it’s definitely not something you want to run around town having it scrawled in an unsecured day planner.<br />
<br />
I have no choice but to blame my mom for starting me on this. We have a thing and it’s called Hobby Lobby. It’s a treacherous place of pretty things that give you a hopeful feeling that everything can work. I have yet to leave empty handed. Well last year, my mom bestowed upon me this beauty... which now have the following stickers on the stripes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE_O9_f0Szt3brNYddy0T7IfrYGcOxAT-9L2NeGLm_NYIwMtsRoi9DSoDq016x1MIL2963TJfmJuuf7z_TrtXphCtNILMINbrDK7KA4r80oq-oy_mr_DA3oP-MV9DJ-JCEYwY5z_oyXA4/s1600/20190228_164756.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE_O9_f0Szt3brNYddy0T7IfrYGcOxAT-9L2NeGLm_NYIwMtsRoi9DSoDq016x1MIL2963TJfmJuuf7z_TrtXphCtNILMINbrDK7KA4r80oq-oy_mr_DA3oP-MV9DJ-JCEYwY5z_oyXA4/s320/20190228_164756.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This quickly became used and has grown with some new additions for the New Year. The pack it came with was pre-printed and therefore, needed to be adjusted. So I’ve added these little folders and<br />
bookmarks to help things move along.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I honestly didn’t think I would be able to keep up with stickers because who uses stickers at my twenty something age? The answer is... the same twenty something who also uses adult coloring books….who is also me. They are so much fun and even on my down days, my slow days at work, my time where mental capacity is not an option, I can still be productive and plan.<br />
<br />

<br />
The trick is for all of this, is never pay full price. The good Lord knows this is not a sponsored post, but if down the line when I have my shiz together they want to look in that direction, I will gladly sacrifice. But back to the obvious is never pay full price. Hobby Lobby is notorious for having sales and especially the Paper Studio brand that does everything for my planner, it will go on sale 40% or 50% off in most cases.<br />
<br />
If by some reason you don’t go in when they are on sale, then follow these instructions:<br />
<br />
1. Pull out your smart phone.<br />
2. Go to the Hobby Lobby website.<br />
3. Get 40% off coupon.<br />
<br />
I lived under a rock for a long time not knowing this neon sign of a secret. Yes, Hobby Lobby always has a 40% off coupon for any 1 regular priced item. It’s always there. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it for stickers, other planner things, gifts, Christmas décor, etc. So use it, love it, plan it, all the things.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
Like any other working, I don’t have a lot of time. And like
a lot of people in the world, I don’t have cable so my tv watching goes to
Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. For some of my coworkers, it’s odd because I
haven’t watched the latest episode of This Is Us or Empire or how the interwebs
are handling the R Kelly docuseries. But online I normally find myself behind
on the latest show trends like Riverdale and Sabrina (although I have started
them but I’m still within the first few episodes)<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Then the internet blew up with Bird Box. The clips, the
ever-popular memes, and now the idiots have taken it and turned it into a
challenge while simultaneously calling the magnificent Sandra Bullock...that
lady. Yea that’s not ok. But all in all, the movie was really good. You do have
to pay attention but it’s worth the hype. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Then in the spirit of New Year, new
everything-even-though-it-ain’t-gonna-last, the world has now blown up with
Tidying Up with Marie Kono. Now everyone is going through the clothes, books,
paper, memes, people, etc wondering if they spark joy. Granted, I was doing the
entirety of my laundry while binging it so I can’t say it wasn’t helpful and
that there’s gonna be some good items for donation or for sale in my near future once I figure out Poshmark. lol<o:p></o:p></div>

Now the ads have gone off on the new documentaries on Hulu
and Netflix about the Fyre Festival. I remember hearing about it all over the
twitterverse when it happened and I’m pretty sure Philip DeFranco, on YouTube, did a piece
on it as well. I just know and the world knows it was a hot d@mn mess and while
I haven’t seen it yet, some of the reactions make me want to see just how much
of a hot mess it was.</div>

I’m a bit of a hermit, partly by choice and mostly not

Riverdale and Sabrina so I can’t attest to too much in that conversation online
and even less in person because most of my coworkers have small children so
definitely a no-go a lot of those times. However, The Umbrella Academy is pretty freaking awesome and it just got renewed for season 2 even though A Day At Time was cancelled completely unceremoniously. But it was nice to see the memes, read
and watch the reactions online and know what’s going on but I don’t think I’ve
gone that far to reach the constant check and watching that I know some people
make. <o:p></o:p></div>

I was on the Instagram as one does after the Grampocalypse that, at least was, for me, just slightly annoying but some people really lost they shiz. But one of the peeps I follow, Marge Hudson aka <a href="https://www.instagram.com/areyoutheregoditsmemarge/?hl=en" target="_blank">@areyoutheregoditsmemarge</a>, opened my eyes to what is happening on the interwebs and I had to be apart of it.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thankfully, I have a day off of work and was planning on totally and completely taking advantage of it. So I had to see what was going and oh my sweet eleven pound baby Jesus, this was phenomenal! The main character is Annie, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/aidybryant/?hl=en" target="_blank">Aidy Bryant</a>, and she is the me and the many others who have gone through anything similar who doesn't fit in a sample size. It was shocking and beautifully done. I also want so much to have a Fran, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lollyadefope/?hl=en" target="_blank">Lolly Adefope</a>, in my life just FYI. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdbFOnVeVRnlhPZJKw3gTCXJwBleyByN7L9bv-vPGcsAYfpJLHnychrL7cAyYjs7I-BpcrBLyLkxuy8Se3ol5RAwTgR2p80r1lKhAYCsIQZJ5GkB5LzWEPTs057wOnh90ZXGEVR9F3tC0/s1600/Shrill+poster.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="626" data-original-width="450" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdbFOnVeVRnlhPZJKw3gTCXJwBleyByN7L9bv-vPGcsAYfpJLHnychrL7cAyYjs7I-BpcrBLyLkxuy8Se3ol5RAwTgR2p80r1lKhAYCsIQZJ5GkB5LzWEPTs057wOnh90ZXGEVR9F3tC0/s320/Shrill+poster.PNG" width="229" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
From episode one, the story is on the move and things are moving very quickly. But I could relate to this show if you haven't figured that out. Now, I don't know if her wardrobe was modestly chosen on purpose because she likes it but feels the need to 'cover up' or what. I just watched the season and here I am so don't @ me. However comma, I felt it because I know in high school, I drove my bff and my mom crazy because my standard wardrobe were jeans and a t-shirt of darker tones. I upped my makeup and accessory game where I could but always double guessing affections from the opposite sex. I mean, hell, who hasn't been called a flipper when your supposedly bisexual boyfriend cheats on you with a guy friend? (For the record, I was the last girl he had as a girlfriend and there's no confusion about the intentions in hindsight and in true Ariana fashion, I'm thankful for him because I now have my ride or die, my person, my best friend for life who is also his ex.) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've had the thoughts where I've thought that a going-on-the-back-door-better-than-nothing feeling was as good as it was going to get. And the mental change that Annie has starts to resonate as the season goes on and that is something that some people have at different times in life and if someone hasn't, I have a feeling that it will help someone get to that point to where they can start loving themselves and stop apologizing for taking space in the world.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even now with my new position, I'm again the biggest person in the building of about a dozen-ish and while it's not intentional most of the time, it's noticed that one does not belong or one does not mesh. Even our personalities are quite a bit different and I've seen clients do a double take for crying out loud. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So it's there, it's not just a show catering to the plus sized community about empowerment but it's also shows the ugly parts that come with it. It happens and people on the internet are cruel but confronting enemies in person, you find how much they hate themselves because you don't have to hate you and they can't handle it. Let that sink in, they, who hate you, can't handle you loving yourself because the standards of the world have always said that you shouldn't, so they don't. Can it still hurt? Abso-f*cking-lutely. Can it suck that your crush in school calls you a hog to your face and your choice is to cry or pull it together and attack verbally because you are not about to be suspended? Hell to the yea. But here we are, being represented anyway on the internet in a show that will definitely take off because in case you haven't been bombarded, the average size of a woman in the US is 14 or 16, can't remember at the moment but it's not a 2. There are more of us than they know what to do with so someone has decided that if you can't beat them, because let's be honest they can't keep us down if they tried, join them and realize that we are human and we are not going away. We are gorgeous. We are fashionable and stylish. We can and deserved to be loved for who we are regardless of our size. We will stand and bring each other up more than those who are determined to bring us down. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I will add that this to a couple other faves in my book that remind me that I'm here and need to live my best life with the good and bad because it's all I got:</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
Over time I’ve read many a blog and one thing that didn’t
make sense to me was posting about their goals. Mostly blog progress goals and
while it’s great to have aspirations, for me they didn’t quite work because I’m
not a full time blogger and I’m still working on consistency (it's going slower than molasses on Christmas Eve but it's going). So if anything,
that’d be my goal in general. But then I came across <a href="https://www.itstartswithcoffee.com/march-2018-goals/" target="_blank">It Starts With Coffee</a>. It's run by Neely and she had
goals that she wanted to do personally to get her through the month and that just
clicked with me on so many levels, it wasn't even funny. So Neely if you only read up to this point, keep going girl. I will definitely be reading.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
I've started a journey with my health to do better and be
better. And now that I’m making progress, I don’t want to lose sight of what I’m
working towards. But I’m also afraid of constantly living in survival mode and
not actually living life. So to start a few things off with inspiration from Neely, I present my monthly Living
Goals.<o:p></o:p></div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Easter weekend. Cozy clothes have been packed to enjoy a quick joint birthday get together with the familia. We started out well. Food was gathered for a BBQ because duh and twas just good chill times. UNTIL I needed to get my brother's birthday gift out of the car....Where in the inner layers of hell are my car keys?????</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
They are in the middle console cup holder inside my locked doors.....</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now let me give you a quick run down about my car. Yes, it's basically a full size sedan because I'm tall, fluffy, and I need my space. It's fairly recently age-wise so it's got electric locks, bluetooth, no trunk key, a keyless pad, etc. So where I could jimmy my '93 lil car in high school when I locked myself out with a wire hanger, this was nowhere near doable....I also bought the new car used. So new to me but I bought it used and the car was what I wanted but the buying experience will forever scar me. From that horrible buying experience, I never got the correct keyless code to open the doors....so no key and no keyless entry and my spares are back home 2 hours away (over 100 miles if ya don't measure distance in drive time)</div>
<div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3IKWc4mgvDUC0kp-siShCJWh64ymaGVuJTYc-PmVLd4X-YcHVb1hxfzgq_ydk7OHTh51MYSLEaQgJg9bpg48LlNGxP1vY46GKv3vepmYHWrCE-IvOMh7JbWcMw0dX8nS7eSfWYfwZRW4/s1600/20180420_132300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3IKWc4mgvDUC0kp-siShCJWh64ymaGVuJTYc-PmVLd4X-YcHVb1hxfzgq_ydk7OHTh51MYSLEaQgJg9bpg48LlNGxP1vY46GKv3vepmYHWrCE-IvOMh7JbWcMw0dX8nS7eSfWYfwZRW4/s200/20180420_132300.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
So I had to call a locksmith. I know a service called AAA is really popular but I honestly don't think it's in my part of the state....or the country....yea. Anyways I don't have that or anything similar....Here I was at my parents house on Easter Sunday and had to call a locksmith via tow company to come and help me get into my car....for the cost of $80 cash.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I learned in college to find them because I had locked my keys in a couple times, including while the vehicle was running...yes, I was this person. And it was discouraging and inconvenient but I was thrilled to just be able to pay for it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've really had to do A TON of re-budgeting to compensate for my <a href="https://b3andallthatjazz.blogspot.com/2017/03/life-said-im-sick.html" target="_blank">medical needs</a> and really making the attempt to be healthier and part of that was to start a savings. Now it's small and it's taken me some time to get my little savings to where it was but thanks to online banking I could make a transfer and made a trip to the ATM to withdraw what I needed. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If this was me a year ago I would not be able to do this. Honest to God I would probably have to beg, plead, bargain, swallow my pride and ask my parents to borrow funds to do what really should have been up to me. (Not that they'd mind, but it bugs me that they shouldn't need to help me so much now)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I just turned 28 and more often than not I'm telling myself that I need to get my sh!t together. It just lets me know that I am on the right path and it reminded me that when I first started to toy with blogging, I tried to get a series going call <a href="https://b3andallthatjazz.blogspot.com/2015/07/operation-ducks-in-row.html" target="_blank">Operation Ducks in a Row</a>. It was supposed to be a way to help hold myself accountable to do better...yea.... I really lost sight of that but today really brought that back. So who knows...maybe something else rose this weekend? I'll keep you updated on it and until then...I hope you had a great Easter weekend and we'll chat next time.</div>

But in case you haven't heard or experienced there's two strains of the flu going around among other annoying infections of the sort. As I'm writing, I've called into work because my compromised immune system is now battling an actual disease. Thankfully, don't think it's the flu, but I won't go into the gross details but I figured, since we're here. Let's make it not gloomy and depressing as possible.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I know this is easier said than done. </span><br />
<br />
So here's some nice pick me ups that have worked for me and that I even need to work on to get through this round of viral plague.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6_raozveBZbyTTuYMjQI_oahFGDtk025y9RcJJKDwFAVJeC4ZyoM93FHd6MhWN_H8iJsQwXUNXnWojzXpu1PpVoGq3SGBa_vJshto4pkvql2Ps_uDjYnqx0VUtjpFYDCVlcCpOf-fvsg/s1600/20180115_085209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6_raozveBZbyTTuYMjQI_oahFGDtk025y9RcJJKDwFAVJeC4ZyoM93FHd6MhWN_H8iJsQwXUNXnWojzXpu1PpVoGq3SGBa_vJshto4pkvql2Ps_uDjYnqx0VUtjpFYDCVlcCpOf-fvsg/s320/20180115_085209.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
1. Soup - first and foremost you need something in your system to help it along and if you can't keep it down at least it's there to keep you from dry heaving. I don't care what anyone says, dry heaving when you have nothing to vomit is the worst bodily experience. So if you don't have a <a href="http://bit.ly/7LivingAlone" target="_blank">recipe or roommates or someone to make you any</a>, always keep a few in the pantry.<br />
<br />
2. Water - room temp is the best - I'll admit that I'm bad at this normally but I'm trying to pick it up today while I'm constantly losing moisture. Don't go ham because it's heavy and it'll definitely revolt but keep sipping.<br />
<br />
3. Tea - now if you've read back a ways to my <a href="http://bit.ly/HispanicRemedy" target="_blank">remedies </a>- there's no tea shortage at my house. Chamomile is my go-to but I'm currently babying a lemon ginger tea. It's definitely different but it's hopefully doing it's thing.<br />
<br />
4. Feel good movies - When I'm sick, I tend to abandon my strong independent senses and become a whiny mess. I hate sitting in miserable silence so on goes the movies. Personal favorites: The Holiday, Phat Girlz, and Disney movies of course...right now of course it the live action Beauty and the Beast on the Netflix. Because who doesn't need the Beast singing in their life? I can't tell you how many times I've listened to Evermore. (also if you need a good cry during said movies, just let it out)<br />
<br />
5. Rest - I'm terrible about napping but it's really not good to be stuck on the phone all day or in this case on the computer and it's definitely something to work on because let me tell you I. AM. DRAINED.<br />
<br />
6. Pj's - Being sick is already uncomfortable and you aren't going anywhere. So whether it's your old college sweats and a t-shirt or some actual pj's do what feels right and add some fuzzy socks to the feet that you've already lathered some Vicks on.<br />
<br />
What I forget, still, is to listen to my body and I'm sure others do the same. I've already felt guilty this past weekend because I didn't do much of anything. But my body has. So in the name of the better you this year (yes I'm also kinda saying this to myself), let your body heal! I've already made a deal so that if my symptoms don't get better I'll call the Dr asap. ***update - I went to the doctor and definitely not the flu, bad stomach bug***<br />
<br />
<br />
How are you feeling? What do you do when you're sick?<br />
<br />
<br />

Allow me to introduce you to my soap box. It's no podium nor pedastal but it allows me to take that step up and project all the feels on a proper stage. It's not all bad or ranty I promise but sometimes there's a point that needs to be made and here's mine for today...<br />
<br />
THANK YOU INTERNET!<br />
<br />
Yes. Simply thank you to the internet. It's been almost a year since I was diagnosed with <a href="http://bit.ly/IBSick" target="_blank">Lupus</a>. My medications are doing their things but what I wanted to thank the internet for helping me regrow my hair. One of the biggest symptoms I had was hair loss. I trimmed my hair to help with the thinning and essentially just had to be patient. Thus came the internet and research. Between straight up Googling, Youtube vloggers and the Blogosphere, I was able to find the help to get my hair back.<br />
<br />
MEANWHILE...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I'd gone to a couple hair salons in the last year. When I trimmed my hair before I was diagnosed, I told the girl I had started going to that I wasn't sure what was happening. She tried to say that she didn't really see the difference and that was that. After I came back from the edge I really noticed how much hair I lost and tried to get some kind of shaping done so that way I didn't really look like a sick person who lost a lot of hair, especially at work. I had one really overpriced trim and recently a better trim by two different hair stylists.... ladie....., people who cut and handle hair for a living and I asked them about what they would recommend for volume, hair growth, hair health, etc and literally had a deer in the headlights expression from both.<br />

And honestly, it's disheartening because I'm not going to this professional to get my hair done for prom or to drop some dollars for highlights or extensions, I am actually wanting help with my hair. With both trips I explained, I got really sick and lost a lot of hair, how can I help it and how can I maintain the hair I have? I guess I expected to find a great person who was like Queen Latifah in Beauty Shop where she's suggesting vitamins, products, advise....yes I know it's a movie. But I would think that when you work in the industry, you'd have an idea or even a direction to go in.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
The only person who actually physically, in person, gave me some help was actually my mom's coworker. Love her and her concern. She found the <i>dermachange </i>shampoo and conditioner that I've been using and so far it's been great and I've noticed a difference. It's gentle and cleansing and leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth instead of straw.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0tTJexRjxQdKpiNOdB2PSM-zExHiCmFyMlT_N_Smr1UKINqy1fdRuMY-0wOMekJ4SYbXiE06TpNxjeLxORy-ncEoq760Bjl1gQyqa3hBBujuRxNPsJWJ16tYm0SUBMa-C9Y3Wh7UhwAE/s1600/20180209_122628.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1035" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0tTJexRjxQdKpiNOdB2PSM-zExHiCmFyMlT_N_Smr1UKINqy1fdRuMY-0wOMekJ4SYbXiE06TpNxjeLxORy-ncEoq760Bjl1gQyqa3hBBujuRxNPsJWJ16tYm0SUBMa-C9Y3Wh7UhwAE/s320/20180209_122628.jpg" width="206" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So thank you internet, and thank you people on the internet who led me to castor oil, biotin, and other products that have helped me regrow my hair and now I feel that my hair is full again. It's still short but an even short. A full short and now I can really say that I feel a bit more like me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
On the other hand, if you have any other suggestions for hair health...<br />
let a girl know on the hurry up side please!!!!<br />

Not just the ups and downs but the kinds that go underground. That's truly been my year. The New Year started and I couldn't walk without help. I spent a couple weeks in the hospital before I could get some actual answers. I went back to work part time and then finally full time and now here we are at the end of the year and not to be super corny but someone needs to play Martina McBride because I have been blessed. I still have <a href="http://bit.ly/IBSick" target="_blank">bad days</a> and I know that they'll happen so I've really tried having a good outlook and working on a lifestyle change and these things have helped me make it through this year.<br />
<br />
<br />
Victoria's Secret Body Butter - after having shingles when I came back to work, it was a process to get through. So afterwards, I had and still have a big patch of now scarred and dry skin. This helps. So to my little brother who has no shame in going to any store, thank you for this because Lawd knows I don't shop at Victoria's Secret.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Quality vs Quantity - a concept that seems very common sense but now is making more sense. (who knew?) But coming back to the home I'm renting rather than my parent's home really made me realize that I have way too much shi!t. I knew I had a lot of stuff but now I see it as sh!t that is not going to help me and I can't keep up with it anymore. I can't defend it anymore. I'm not in college anymore so I don't need $2 flats or a ton of cheap sheets or bad makeup that will last for a month or two... I need something that will last a while and if that means seriously saving and investing in good quality insert blank, then that's what I need to do.<br />
<br />
Bath and Body Works Sugar Scrub - I know that VS and BBW are owned by the same peeps but I would rather go to the B.B.Dubs any time and even more so when my girl, Vero, is working. She keeps me in the loop and it really helps that she's knowledgeable about the products other than just the scent and the packaging. Also getting rid of the dead skin is a big plus.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAntU6AgAJ9NrMPjfsz16MQ4f_FRHLyKDpoYN5atwZhp9YSTeP1WXSD9Eb14KkWzBrQ1SI8vOk8F8ojVKmDo94GmKS8qKlD3Gik7epGPWP-2H3eE4V-oI0ZXihfZlE04oprtzVH5y1vMs/s1600/20180113_113443.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAntU6AgAJ9NrMPjfsz16MQ4f_FRHLyKDpoYN5atwZhp9YSTeP1WXSD9Eb14KkWzBrQ1SI8vOk8F8ojVKmDo94GmKS8qKlD3Gik7epGPWP-2H3eE4V-oI0ZXihfZlE04oprtzVH5y1vMs/s320/20180113_113443.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Water - ask anyone that knows me, I hate drinking water!!! My boyfriend was a camel in a previous life because he can literally slam almost a liter of water first thing in the morning. He's always on me about drinking more water and I thank him for it almost as much as I give him the 'eye'. Ladies, you know the one. So even though I hate it, I do whatever I can to make me drink more water which has done wonders for my water bottle collection. My body needs it, especially my kidneys, and the rest will follow.<br />
<br />
My Backpacks - My medical one and my new-ish love - I had a post a while back in my Tale of the Tank series about my backpack. <a href="http://bit.ly/TOTTBackpack" target="_blank">Read it</a>. I treat my purses as artillery and they have to hold up. In my Tale of the Tank I had this backpack that helped me so much especially when I was still on a walker and a cane and now I have this gorgeous bag from Betsy Johnson that looks small but has so much space to still be a tank.<br />

<br />
Self-care - I'm not a consistent blogger, that's obvious. I'm also not a consistent self-care advocate unless it has to do with sleep because if anything I know I need sleep and actual rest is a must or else. But in real ways. I have done a few baths but can't really do bath bombs and my tub is hella narrow so it's not the most comfortable but I'll do a great smelling candle and a face mask. I've learned that epsom salt can be great for inflammation and if I can lay off pain meds with a salt soak be it my feet or my entire body, then I'll do it. I don't mind medication but I'm definitely not opposed to finding other alternatives. Other alternatives also include food. I'm a tried and true New Mexican. I grew up on rice, beans, Allsups burritos and hotlinks and pretty much anything fried and covered in chile (not chili) and cheese. I can't do that anymore so I'm trying newer and healthier options to care for the body I have now or I won't make it physically or mentally.<br />
<br />
<br />
What has gotten you through this entire year? Please let me know, I'm all for suggestions :)<br />

Hello and Happy after-Christmas day everyone. I hope that
everyone had a good holiday. Emily and all her wonderfulness at <a href="https://t.co/ELwH30XJcJ" target="_blank">The Weird Girl Life</a> had tagged
me in a tag for fall but obviously that one hasn’t showed up and I will have to
save it for some time. That got me to thinking that I had a saved post from
last year and BEHOLD!!!! I did and I still have some time to send this out to
the world. Now past me didn’t think to save the blogger who did this tag or
else I’d have it all kinds of plastered so if you’ve done this tag and think
you may have done it, comment me and let me know!! (And then when fall comes

Secret Santas are awesome. I love me some Christmas and I enjoy gift giving even if all I can afford is a candy bar.<br />
<br />
So some peeps have one day to give a Secret Santa gift. I know for many families it's just the Christmas day or celebration, but I love the situation I have at work. We usually do 4 or 5 days or what ever days lead up to our Christmas party dinner.<br />
<br />
Day 1. Drink<br />
Day 2. Candy<br />
Day 3. Random thing (if we don't have our party)<br />
Day 4. Actual gift at the party<br />
<br />
Typical Secret Santa rules are:<br />
* of course, no sharing of giftee - takes the fun out of it<br />
* no need to be extravagant - there's usually a price limit decided for the final gift.<br />
* have fun with it<br />
<br />
I understand that not everyone does Christmas.... whether its for different religions or preference, etc. This season regardless of the technicalities is about good intentions. We should be kind throughout the year but think about it. It's the end of the year and the end of everything that the year has thrown at us.<br />
<br />
I like to do a little extra when I can at work to let my Secret Santa know that there's at least one person who sees them as a person and not just a coworker. When you work full time, you end up spending more time at work than at home or with others, so it helps when you get along and why not say hey, you're a cool peep and I appreciate you. Sounds corny but I mean it.<br />
<br />
SO for actual gifts, most work circles revolve around $20 which gives you plenty of stuff to work with whether the giftee is male or female. Now I don't mind gift cards but they're too easy. I understand having someone who is hell to buy for. I'm looking the guys in my life, dad, brother and my wonderful but difficult boyfriend. I have an <a href="http://bit.ly/10BFGifts" target="_blank">old post on some gifts</a> if you wanna check those out but here's some ideas in general via my love for Amazon under $20. (but it's sooooo not sponsored because duh)<br />

I had this argument with my boyfriend recently about
debating what plans to do for the fall. Most of the exciting things happen in
the state like the International Balloon Fiesta, and there’s just other
festivals galore for my state. Of course we get invited to a couple Halloween
parties, mainly through his friends and coworkers. Like any other holiday occasion, they
were going to be costume parties. Mind you, he’s one of the youngest guys at
his work and they’ve been asking what his costume is going to be and he’s been
answering with “myself”. He doesn’t plan on wearing a costume because he states
that he’s too old or his favorite coined phrase, he’s grown.<o:p></o:p></div>

Now anyone who just enjoys holidays in general can see the
brain cells dying off in my head because I’m totally rolling them. Happens
every year and what he doesn’t realize is that it puts me in a slightly awkward
spot because if we go, you know that your girl is gonna wanna dress up. (I only
say slightly because while we could be that couple that dresses together, I
don’t really have a problem going all out on my costume while he shows up in a
regular t-shirt). His older brother throws a little family get together for
Halloween that includes costumes and a pumpkin decorating contest. It’s all
part of the spirit but I know and you know and they know and everyone and their
dog knows that there are people in the world that think that if you have hit
puberty then you are too old to be trick or treating and/or participating.<o:p></o:p></div>

Now I know it’s not just a ‘girl’ thing to want to dress up
and not be you, intentionally, with no judgement what-so-ever so I give you 5
reasons to join in the holiday spirit for Halloween.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">
</span><!--[endif]-->There are too few joys in life. There’s no
hiding the turmoil that has plagued the world lately. Not just where I am in
the state of New Mexico where we had our own shooting at a local public library
but there’s been the terrible massacre in Las Vegas, Nevada. The multiple
hurricanes to the southeast of the country as well as the wall of Hellfire up
in the northwest of the country. Mother Nature has also taken a toll on other
areas of the world as well as just the appalling actions of other humans here
and everywhere else. We need a sort of release. We need a time to be together
and remember that it’s ok to have a good time in order to renew spirits to
handle tomorrow. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">
</span><!--[endif]-->It’s proof that we need to take ourselves a
little less seriously. Now this is something that I can admit I am guilty of
and I thank my wonderful boyfriend for pointing it out to me even if I don’t
like it in that moment. You have to be able to laugh at yourself. Call it the
fault of the PC culture or Social Justice Warriors whatever you want, it’s all
just an excuse. You can’t take yourself seriously all the time. You just can’t
because if you do then it affects your personality and it has the potential to
turn you not just into a party pooper but a general stick in the mud in life
and no one wants to be around that (including yourself). <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.<span style="font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">
</span><!--[endif]-->It’s just fun overall. FUN. Whether you have the
stupid SpongeBob song playing or a club song playing in your head. It’s almost
a certifiable day to be lighthearted and whimsy. If your work allows you to
dress up within reason, why not? If you’re invited to a grown up costume party
and you want to be fun rather than risqué, why not? If you’d rather go vice
versa, why not? It’s a perfect opportunity to try something new in terms of
your personality and check out reactions. Everyone gets compliments around
Halloween whether it’s for being scary, pretty, creative, risqué. You can still
get away with throwing a sheet with two holes and be a ghost and still get
laughs for crying out loud. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.<span style="font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">
</span><!--[endif]-->Great family time. Now granted I don’t have kids
and if you have them, you’re more than likely to keep them away from me because
I have some unseen ability to scare children and it ultimately ends with crying
and occasionally screaming. No lie and 98% of the time it’s unintentional. But
I’ve also been at work and we usually participate in the Safe Stops for Trick
Or Treating. The community does a fantastic job of putting it together for
families to take especially the small children trick or treating during the day
rather than in the depths of night. I’ve seen the full cast of the Wizard of Oz
with Dorothy and the Lion in a stroller. I’ve seen the cast of Toy Story with 3
of them riding in a Red Wagon, one being the little green alien and my life was
made. It’s just a good time all around for us who are giving the treats and for
everyone who has to walk through our doors. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]-->5.<span style="font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; line-height: normal;">
</span><!--[endif]-->It doesn’t have to be demonic. Yes, the history
surrounding the connotation of Halloween is fairly dark. No matter what your
faith or beliefs are, it’s good to remember that we can’t change the past. We
can’t change the possibility or even of the idea that the spirits of those
who’ve passed on have the opportunity to return or if you as a virgin light the
Blake Flame Candle then the Sanderson sisters would return to suck the lives
out of the children by sunrise. It is 2017 and we have the power and ability to
make this holiday what we want. So if your group wants to throw up a picture of
a goat and jam out to Norwegian black metal bands, whatever but don’t harm
anyone. If your group wants to have a costume party zombies or heaven forbid,
karaoke, do you booboo and don’t harm anyone. </div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;">
There are worse things in this
life and in this world than a holiday we can use for fun rather than
obligation. And on that note, what are you dressing up as?</div>

And then the other part is ok with it because my allergies have my eyes and nose and face all kinds of itching and runny and ew. But it made me remember that I hadn't done this post yet and I really needed to.<br />
<br />
So a bit of a backstory with my mascara, I was not allowed to wear makeup until I was 15. My Quinceanera was a big milestone for me and anyone who's familiar with Hispanic culture knows that the doors open when you turn 15. And when I did I joined the sisterhood that my mom and aunt started. Blue masacara....<br />
<br />
Now I know that you know that colored mascaras were a pretty decent trend for a while but from what I found nothing came close to my first love, <a href="https://b3andallthatjazz.blogspot.com/2016/02/this-girls-new-best-lash-friend.html" target="_blank">my ride or die</a>, my forever...AND IT WAS DISCONTINUED!!!!<br />
<br />
What Maybelline didn't realize that I tend to stock up on the Great Last mascara in Royal Blue. I know it's not the best thing to have and do but it's a thing and I will not regret that because for a long time I had no idea that Maybelline discontinued my all time favorite mascara that me, my sister, my mom and my aunt wore FOR YEARS as our signature! And I felt blindsided to know that I finished the last bit of my mascara and couldn't restock until they came to their senses and brought it back and I bought two the first day I found them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWBzaOm7hlz9KhH6lEKwEiespwX0WJipkpiq1tBpO51bmX0kdWjKoQHfW-fCBNHrxbYvna5F3Y5ctV7vq_sT7XKb7vnUh3azxnMwxfWwOXCUIBP49zIrYJ_czjbXDb2RL7UKEjPous8Wo/s1600/20170927_143615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1302" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWBzaOm7hlz9KhH6lEKwEiespwX0WJipkpiq1tBpO51bmX0kdWjKoQHfW-fCBNHrxbYvna5F3Y5ctV7vq_sT7XKb7vnUh3azxnMwxfWwOXCUIBP49zIrYJ_czjbXDb2RL7UKEjPous8Wo/s320/20170927_143615.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
In that time before the heavens reopened, I tried a couple other drug store mascaras and had mixed results.<br />
<br />
My first was from Covergirl that featured Katy Perry. I don't know if I got a bad one because I swear the moment I opened it, the brush came out clumpy and dry and scratchy even before I attempted it on my eyes. The color was more navy than anything and didn't really show up on my lashes and didn't do much at all. I know I've enjoyed the Covergirl foundation but obviously the eye side needs work.<br />
<br />
The second was better. L'oreal Voluminous is pretty awesome anyway and they came out with a blue mascara. I had some real hope for these because I do enjoy the Carbon Black but it has to be waterproof or I am straight raccoon status. In all honesty it was pretty good in terms of the Voluminous quality that I'm already used to and while the color was not as bold when it's dry as my Royal Blue, it's still pretty good and I'll still use it. Now the Voluminous line also has a white mascara primer and if you're using it beforehand, the blue is brighter and it's nice as long as you make sure you cover all the white before it dries.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIGo4o83irjekzAUl9mVwXp1WsPJ5v2OwI72C7jFPTtNGZ0FRhGQeiv-67DxJ6mtgGHvzd5SDJkvyV4mAHKGF0fWeKljdjuOg98Q0cQJOyC4RQJ3kaYCuwjCRpYDJRLwHdOhjKU98Pxe8/s1600/20170927_202850.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIGo4o83irjekzAUl9mVwXp1WsPJ5v2OwI72C7jFPTtNGZ0FRhGQeiv-67DxJ6mtgGHvzd5SDJkvyV4mAHKGF0fWeKljdjuOg98Q0cQJOyC4RQJ3kaYCuwjCRpYDJRLwHdOhjKU98Pxe8/s320/20170927_202850.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now I know that people have mixed feelings about Maybelline and the Great Lash line itself. I've never used the black mascara and for me brown mascara is pointless. I used to use the clear Great Lash on my eyebrows but you can NOT understand my love for the Royal Blue mascara. It's my signature eye makeup. It's my thing. I get compliments on it just about every time I wear it. It is not waterproof but the formula is great enough to where it stays on my eyes until I wash it off. Even when I wash it off it doesn't take an act of Congress and a virgin sacrifice to clean it off without pain and a ton of pulling.<br />
<br />
<br />
So on that note, it may be time to start restocking.<br />
<br />
<br />

There are days...... and then there are days where circumstances
dictate what has to happen for that day. As a plus sized woman, there are
certain standards that society will always be violated and for those that are
offended, sorry your life sucks. It took me a long time to be comfortable with
myself and every now and then, sometimes I gotta smack myself and remind myself
that I’m fabulous. I had one of those moments this morning.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Aside from being <a href="http://bit.ly/The3BBBz" target="_blank">B3 (Big, Bad, and Beautiful)</a>, I have always
enjoyed the size of my chest, my bust, my rack of power if you will. I was a B
cup in 6th grade and have only leveled up from there. But like any
great power comes greater responsibility and I take it very seriously in the
bra department. These girls need the support to be properly and tastefully on
display and for that, I don’t mind spending a decent amount of money on quality
bras from Lane Bryant. Nothing against Victoria’s Secret, but they don’t carry
my size in store and if I’m going to spend an arm and a possible leg on bras, I
want to be able to try them on before I buy them so thank you Lane Bryant for
taking my money willingly in exchange for great bras that don’t stop working and are pretty too.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Since learning about and dealing with my new disease, I’ve
been trying to keep an open mind and a closed wallet, however, my biggest
complaint about losing weight is that my bras don’t fit right. I prefer padded and underwired and anyone who wears this combo knows that if it
doesn’t fit, you will most likely be in pain. And I have been because with all
the changes happening to my body and lifestyle, I can’t afford to replace them
and then find out that I’d need to change them again. So I went to the only
store I would and could go to and made a choice to try a bandeau bra slash
bralette.<br />
<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
I’ve seen them everywhere on the interwebs and they are all the rage,
but I’ve always been under the impression that they weren’t for me because I’ve
normally seen them on smaller women with smaller busts. Finding these in my
size at maurices was a surprise and a sign to bite the bullet and not knock it
til I try it, especially considering these cost, literally, a third of what I
would pay for a regular bra.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
With the inflammation in my joints, there are some days
where I can’t put on a bra because my hands can’t and won’t grip it. So here I
am trying these little barely padded, no wire, basically tube tops and half of
me is wanting to smack myself for going out in public for fear of rejection and
ridicule. The other half was the half I listened to because I was able to
mentally smack myself harder with the fact that if it feels good and it looks
good, then it could be a beautiful relationship. <o:p></o:p><br />

And guess what? As I'm writing this.... this is my first day not just wearing it in
public, but at work in a professional atmosphere and so far it feels
wonderful. I’m comfortable and the girls
aren’t going wild without wires. My mind is going, if it feels great now, what
about in other outfits for regular wear like sleeveless, razorbacks, scoop
necks, off the shoulder, spaghetti straps, etc????? The possibilities are endless
so take it from me, take a chance and try it, whatever ‘it’ may be.<o:p></o:p><br />

This may seem trivial but I kid you not, my best friend and
I had a legit long discussion about this topic and I found that this was a
situation that I need remedied. We’ve finally come to terms with the fact that
we are closer to thirty and yet still don’t feel like we’ve met many of the
traditional adult milestones yet let alone feel like adults. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I had that smacked on my forehead recently while cleaning
out some drawers. I’m really working on downsizing and while the idea of
minimizing is kind of appealing, I don’t think I could go all the way. But I
know I have way too much junk. In that same area, I have a rather deep drawer
for my makeup and my smell good stuff. That’s when it hit me….I have one bottle
of perfume. Of actual perfume. It was a Christmas gift in college, I think,
because it’s one of the Ed Hardy perfumes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpVWIzoK6GmIjVtlKAP4PD8H0hwIvjNKRLehSYcaGd4unwDAdAMJvjzVTS6NvhqAsl96TJ1PV-qW7tLfaegkzAqiVOAqP7kvgU1WnXFBH7_y8Z-VV04o61c9WyBFSWmKvEGdcHIFhrLfs/s1600/20170813_191925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpVWIzoK6GmIjVtlKAP4PD8H0hwIvjNKRLehSYcaGd4unwDAdAMJvjzVTS6NvhqAsl96TJ1PV-qW7tLfaegkzAqiVOAqP7kvgU1WnXFBH7_y8Z-VV04o61c9WyBFSWmKvEGdcHIFhrLfs/s320/20170813_191925.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So I have this one bottle of perfume and I remember only
using it for special occasions because it was the only one I had. As a person
in the arts, for rehearsals, recitals and performances I had to smell good. My mom had always told me that there is no reason to not smell good. Also with
being a larger than the average girl both width wise and height wise, smelling
bad was a stereotype I wanted to make sure I didn’t fall into. So I had body
sprays. My store of choice as it is for many youngins and ladies of the like,
Bath and Body Works. And from the looks of my drawers, it looks like it’s the
only thing I do wear. Japanese Cherry Blossom, Paris Amour, A Thousand Wishes,
as well as a few that have been discontinued like the Wild Madagascar Vanilla,
Twilight Woods, and my Blushing Cherry Blossom circa 2009. I don’t have to tell
you that I’m a fan of the buy 3 get 2 free sale…or sales in general…..or
knowing when the sales come because one of my best girlfriends keeps me in the
loop or lets me know when my current addicted scent is going to be
discontinued….(Thank you Bona and I love you so much :D)<o:p></o:p></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Obviously it’s a lot and it’s not that I don’t use them,
it’s just a lot. In high school, I had one at home and one at multiple places in school. In
college, I had one in my car and backpack as well. Now I have a spare at work,
a mini in my purse and car. I’m also not a person just to do one or two
spritzes either. Ya gotta do the body, the pulse points, the nether region and
the hair. It’s ok to do that because
it’s not as strong as a perfume and doesn’t last as long, especially when you
had dance class, marching band, swim practice, theatre rehearsals under stage
lights, etc. I used it like my life depended on it and for performances I’d use
the real deal. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
But now that I’m not in school, a lot of my extracurricular activities
graduated to extinction with my academic life. I still wear them and have no
problem wearing it but I don’t feel as great when I’m working the Tahitian Paradise body
spray while my boyfriend is wearing Versace Cologne and I’m 3 whiffs from
attacking him, just saying. Ladies who know, will know that there is nothing
wrong with a man that smells good. <o:p></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
But I’m not a kid anymore and I’m not a student anymore. I’m
finding myself in between young lady and lady (insert throwback to Brittney's Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman). So why does it matter?
Everyone’s seen the memes about starting from the bottom with Lip Smacker and
now we here at Mac Lipsticks.</div>

I kinda feel like I’m missing out on that part so
to help me out I’m experimenting with some scents. Helping my bff in the
estrogen department by going to Ulta to get a refill on his Dolce and Gabana
Light Blue cologne, see the trend?? I picked up a roll on perfume from Kate
Spade. Small enough to not cost an arm and a leg and for now I like it as a
good summer scent so we’ll see how it goes. But I think it’s time to grow up a
bit.<br />

Well interweb peeps, June is over. Half of the year is
already gone and I’ve got some serious whiplash. My bff and I were talking
about what we’ve done in the last six months. I won’t get you with the details
of the entire past, we are here to see favorites. And for June, there’s a few. Literally because these had been rocking my month. They may be few, but they be awesome.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u>Kind is the New Pretty – Tarte</u> – If you read my last
month’s favorites, which you should <a href="http://bit.ly/1may7f" target="_blank">here</a>, then you’ll know that I bought this
little set on sale during the Ulta megasale of awesomeness. Of course, with my
lowered immune system, I was getting sick and wasn’t one for wearing makeup.
But now that I’m semi-sane, I’m so glad I bought this mini pallet. It’s easy to
get to and has everything great shades that I can literally wear everyday. I’ve
made a few trips back home and have had to make super early trips to the doctor
so this little pallet plus a couple brushes and some mascara and I’m set.<o:p></o:p><br />
<br />
I had to get rid of a lot of makeup after my stent of being an incubus of plague so between lack of money and the amount of makeup I tend to wear on a normal basis, I've really wanted more of an all-in-one situation and this little pallet has it.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u><br /></u>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I will admit that I didn't expect it to be this small. It fits in the palm of my hand. The bronzer works really well for my skin tone as it's not too warm. The blush is a bit more on the orange side but I strangely like it. It's buildable for me because I can imagine overdoing it, especially at home where my lighting is terrible thanks to wood panelling, so it's always a bit darker in my house than I like. Now the highlight....It is pretty fabulous. Granted when I put too much so that I look like a unicorn licked my face, it can be a bit much because it's white. The picture doesn't do the sparkle justice and in the words of YouTuber Nicole Guerriero, "Sir, can you see this highlight?" It definitely packs a punch but somedays I wanna be chill and not punch people with my highlight. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u>Sally Hansen Instadry Nail Color – Petal Pusher</u> – I
hadn’t painted my nails in a hot minute. I haven’t had my nails done in an even
hotter minute. Despite everything going on with me, my nails to tend to grow
pretty fast so acrylics and gel can get pretty expensive. So instead of a super
bold color I grabbed this for a little color and I am loving it. It’s subtle
enough to not clash with everything and it doesn’t take forever and a day to
dry.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhszJXM7U2NroSnoTwQRbHKVVaZcwBvAV37zVUc8J5NnsSqPWTzjssHzDpD0KkLENTPawkJtdLoO6RE1JDPayE4EE4DuXWv91Qb6zK0oBTvaPZHV7vHzePhVJwvHQaq7Wc0rs6N0e9dMRM/s1600/20170713_085408+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhszJXM7U2NroSnoTwQRbHKVVaZcwBvAV37zVUc8J5NnsSqPWTzjssHzDpD0KkLENTPawkJtdLoO6RE1JDPayE4EE4DuXWv91Qb6zK0oBTvaPZHV7vHzePhVJwvHQaq7Wc0rs6N0e9dMRM/s320/20170713_085408+%25281%2529.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I'm not kidding when I say it's a literal quick drying nail polish. If I have a solid seven minutes, the brush is wide enough to cover most of my nails in one swipe and opaque enough to not be entirely streaky. I can still do two coats, have them dry and pop a quick top coat and dry in roughly that time. So don't be too heavy on the hand and it'll all be well with the world.<br />
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<u>Zuchini boats – Pinterest recipe</u> – one of my best
girlfriends and I have been working on newer and healthier recipes and once a
week we make them and have a chance to catch up on life. Since we both were
raised in a way that didn’t always include a lot of veggies like zucchini and
squash, I’ve strayed away from them mainly out of ignorance. NOT the case
anymore. This recipe she found on Pinterest from <a href="http://thewholesomedish.com/">thewholesomedish.com</a> called for ground chicken but we
used ground turkey and lemme tell you, I’ve made it again and it’s pretty
fricken awesome and surprisingly filling. So go check out my <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/allthatjazz720" target="_blank">Food board onPinterest</a> and test it out yourself.<o:p></o:p></div>

</div>
A common plague to the twenty something woman - not being made of money. With the pile of bills continuing to add up thanks to the array of doctors, the priorities of where my money goes has been spoken for. So some of my goals now include trying to pinch a few pennies to save up for some things that I wouldn't normally have to think twice on. I've always imagined people in the city who walked down five avenue checking out awesome things at awesome stores and normally in about sizes 3 or 4 times too small. Also in a tiny town plus the summer wind doesn't make for a pleasant day on the town. So instead, I turn toward the internet and do my 'window shopping' there. So far these things are what I have my eye on to help keep me from buying coffee in the morning or lunch when we're short handed at work or needing to save up for a repairs charge from my freaking landlord(that will come later).<br />
<br />
So here's my happy place lately.<br />
<br />
Torrid tends to get me in trouble. I love that they have my size and freaking awesome clothes that I could normally only afford when on a great flash sale or on clearance. My sister and I have developed this thing with pineapples and low and behold Torrid has a bright AF pineapple dress that needs to be in my life but sadly not at $54. So instead I will stalk it and wait for the moment I can afford it and snag it before my size disappears.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJR0mdCd76CJVEU0R8o3MrLlNfJM1QUwjHnxXTKTmH8njpuYtza5eNh2hXcihelZZcqaT5IGw_vtLOwoyeoQjZye8tlPYL27A8CdcRuocKLgdaoTKpVogXB76Fg34eUmrv-xdkuRLm5Sc/s1600/pineapple+dress.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="314" data-original-width="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJR0mdCd76CJVEU0R8o3MrLlNfJM1QUwjHnxXTKTmH8njpuYtza5eNh2hXcihelZZcqaT5IGw_vtLOwoyeoQjZye8tlPYL27A8CdcRuocKLgdaoTKpVogXB76Fg34eUmrv-xdkuRLm5Sc/s1600/pineapple+dress.PNG" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
If you haven't read much from me, you'll find out quickly that I'm a fan of Amazon and Amazon Prime. I've had great luck with my back when my health was at it's worst, you can read about my <a href="http://bit.ly/TOTTBackpack" target="_blank">lifesaver of a backpack</a>. But it got me thinking about my purse situation. I still enjoy having my tank of a purse. I mean hell, I've started a series on the tank because doing a simple little "what's in my bag?" But these two have my eye and I can't decide which to save for first. They aren't expensive but for right now, they must be on the wish list<br />

This one is actually just going to happen sooner than the ones before. I've been spending a lot of time in my living room and on my phone still. Don't get me wrong, I love my Galaxy S7, but I've shot the battery and have to charge it a bit more often than I like. But on the go, I still carry my <a href="http://bit.ly/TOTTBattery" target="_blank">external battery</a> and what not but I shouldn't need to use one at home. So this little gem is roughly $10 on the Amazon so to keep me from running back and forth from my room and missing messages, notifications and calls from the familia, I'll avoid a few impulses to be comfortable.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
Another month has come and gone and it’s kind of insane as
to how fast things are starting to pick up. It’s currently around 90 degrees
here in New Mexico so I’m doing my best to stay out of it all. It’s bad for me
and my mood. What has been making my mood better this month tho are great
things. Some I’ve rediscovered and some totally new, so check it out and leave
me a comment with some of your favorites.<o:p></o:p></div>

<i>Amazon Firestick</i> – My wonderful man of mine gave this to me
for Christmas a few years back and I used it sparingly but didn’t really get
into all the amazingness unless I turned off my cable. So yea, I’m going
through life with no cable, no satellite, just a pretty awesome, and new,
internet service that makes using this thing a necessity in life. Now mine
isn’t like the newer ones with the voice activation and I’m ok with that. I
already use Amazon Prime and can stream a ton of shows and movies. I have my
YouTube account signed in so I don’t even have to bring out my phone or laptop and
do I even need to mention Netflix? The next stop will be Hulu at some point,
but for now…Life is pretty damn entertaining in a good way.<o:p></o:p></div>

<i>Tarte Lip Scuptor in Kind</i> – So towards the end of Ulta’s
super sale that ended in April, I took a shot at a little pallet from Tarte and
with it being on a pretty good sale, I thought why not. Now the pallet is ok,
to be honest I haven’t had a real chance to use it HOWEVER comma, I have been
so in love with the lip color that came with it. It’s a lipstick on one end and
a lip gloss on the other. Everyone talks about their perfect nude and since my
lips are large and a bit discolored anyway I didn’t think I could and then I
wore this and the heavens opened up and the Snapchat halo of flowers appeared
on my head. Lol. All dramatics aside, both sides are wonderful in texture and
sometimes I’ll wear both and sometimes I’ll wear one. The lip gloss I’m most
impressed with because I usually stray away from glosses because of the
stickiness. Can’t stand it, won’t have any of it. My ideal ‘gloss’ has been the
<a href="http://bit.ly/JJuicy" target="_blank">Juicy Shaker from Lancome</a>. But this right here may turn me onto Tarte lips if
more of their lip products are this smooth.<o:p></o:p></div>

Bona!!!) I’ve got the big size and mini sizes and have stocked up at some

<i>Play N Skillz – Si Una Vez</i> – Ok I’ve not had a favorite song
in a hot minute. But let me tell you that when I heard this song. I didn’t even
hear the music, I heard the lyrics and immediately had instant focus. This song
was originally sung by Selena, wonderful Hispanic icon of my childhood who was
taken from us way too early – even before TuPac, and hadn’t heard a good
representation of any of her songs other than what her family has already done.
But this song, I literally have had on repeat for an embarrassing amount of
time and do I feel ashamed of it? Not one bit. Now I don’t care much for the
English version, not to discredit Frankie J and Leslie Grace who are also in
the song , (just listen to it, there’s quite a few people involved) but I think
it loses something in translation. I think it’s a fantastic song that can stand
on its own as well as give a wonderful tribute to Selena and her legacy.<o:p></o:p></div>

I’m a firm believer that you have to be comfortable in your
own space. More often than not, I’m at work more than I am at home so excuse my
language when I say Hell Yes, I want to be comfy in my office bubble. And being
on the mend has changed a lot of my perspective because I’m at the point where
I don’t want to take care of allllllll my clutter. So in looking around my
office, I believe it’s time to redecorate.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I’ve had my customers come in and say it feels cozy and yes,
that helps too. Your surroundings affect how you feel and how others feel
around you in that space. I’m no neat freak by far, like seriously from Death Valley to the moon far, but it’s time for a change. Besides Spring and Summer
are here and it’s time to put away the dark table coverings and replace the
dark folders and dark decorations and clear off a bit more space to feel fresh and hopefully keep
the cozy feeling. <o:p></o:p></div>

determined to use it. Stick on a few scrapbook gems and a monogram and I have a
space for my much needed hand sanitizer and lotion. Bath and Body Works is a
good friend to have and having a wonderful friend who works there to let you
know when the good sales are happening is even better and slightly dangerous.
But anyone who works with the public knows that it’s a must and I don’t mind
sharing it with my clients either. They feel great and smell great and with <a href="http://bit.ly/IBSick" target="_blank">how sick I am</a>, it makes me feel better.<o:p></o:p><br />
